Remembering and learning from the First Lady of Apeejay Stya Group

Apeejay Schools across Delhi-NCR, Punjab celebrate the 11th Punyatithi of Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, wife of Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul

It is rightly said that while all souls have to go away  someday, many still remain in the world through their works and the hearts touched. Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, wife of late Founder-Chairman of Apeejay Education and Apeejay Stya Group Dr Stya Paul,  was one such soul. With her myriad contributions in the field of art, culture and an all humanistic approach to life, she spread happiness and joy in every field she touched.

Thus, seeking inspiration from her life, all Apeejay schools across Delhi-NCR and Punjab To pay tribute to the enlightened soul on her Punya Tithi. 

Apeejay School Mahavir Marg, Jalandhar, commemorated the 11th Punya Tithi of the beloved First Lady in a solemn tranquil manner. Principal, staff and students together paid a floral tribute to honour the life and contributions of the venerable soul. The school atmosphere resonated with devotional tunes and a serene bhajan recital uplifted the spirits of all.

Principal Mrs Sangeeta Nistandra shared fond memories and highlighted the achievements and virtues of the First Lady. She also mentioned the indelible impact left in many lives and reflected upon the countless contributions made, which has the lasting legacy left behind. Dr Nistandra said, “The greatest way to honour someone’s memory is by embodying the principles they stood for. Let us then carry forward Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji’s teachings and spread love, compassion, and kindness in the world through all our interactions. Let her spirit continue to guide us, nurture our growth and help us become better individuals.”

Apeejay School, Rama Mandi in Jalandhar also paid a humble tribute to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul. Principal Mr. A. K. Sharma reminisced the life-journey and contribution of this divine soul in laying the foundation of the Apeejay Education Society. 

In his address to the students he mentioned, “Smt Rajeshwari Paul ji was a motherly figure for all Apeejayites and considered every member of the Apeejay Group as her own family member. She was an epitome of strength, compassion, grit and determination. Her support to Dr. Stya Paul Ji’s vision and mission of life is an example of her strong faith and belief in man-making and nation-building, what the Apeejay Group stands for. I urge you all students to take inspiration from her life and make an active contribution in making the world a happier place.”

If other Apeejay schools are here, then can Apeejay School, Model Town, Jalandhar, remain far behind. On this auspicious occasion, students were enlightened about the glorious life and achievements of the First Lady of the Apeejay Stya Group. Students were captivated after hearing about Smt Rajeshwari ji’s commitment to promoting women empowerment and education.

The school authorities came together with the students to pay a floral tribute to the Smt. Paul. Devotional songs and hymns were chanted to pay homage to the noble soul. Mr. Malkiat Singh, Principal, urged the students to follow the path of righteousness as shown by Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji through her life. Mr. Singh also told students about the First Lady’s rich contribution towards the promotion of fine arts and urged students to work on their talents as well as abilities and use them to spread joy and compassion around.

In Delhi-NCR too Apeejay Schools paid a soulful homage to the First Lady of the group. The Principal, teaching and non-teaching staff as well as students at Apeejay School, Noida, came together to pay a rich floral tribute as the school compound reverberated to the tune of soulful bhajans. Principal, Ms. Ritu Kohli, mentioned to students how Smt. Rajeshwari Paul ji was known to all as a motherly figure owing to her loving nature.

Staff and students alike offered their prayers and pledged to uphold the values the great soul exemplified all her life.  Owing to Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s compassion, generosity and large-heartedness, the school celebrated the day as Mother’s Day. Class 9 students of the school presented a mesmerising saga of cultural performances.

Further, Apeejay Svran Global School in Faridabad also paid a rich homage on this occasion through a special assembly in remembrance of  Smt. Rajeshwari Paul and Founder-Chairman Dr. Stya Paul. The programme commenced with the chanting of the Gayatri mantra, followed by the lighting of the lamp. 

Principal, Ms Priti Wason, along with Education Officer Ms Purnima Vohra joined the students and staff in paying a floral tribute to the departed soul. 

A class 8 student Manthan sang a soulful bhajan that was fitting for the occasion. Ms Priti Wason regaled the students with some insights about Smt. Rajeshwari Paul, who was an ‘epitome of resilience’ throughout her life. The Principal also spoke about how the First Lady had guided the countless students to uphold all the values of compassion, generosity, and large-heartedness. Further, Ms. Purnima Vohra shared some special anecdotes of her interaction with Smt Rajeshwari Paul ji. Student prodigy Dhruv Pandit  along with teachers Mr. Imran Ahmed, Mr. Dhirender Kataria, and Mr. Vineet Dwivedi poured his heart out in a bhajan that reverberated in the assembly hall. The school also observed a minute of silence in honour of the venerable soul. 

Similarly, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park in Delhi marked the day by reminiscing about the divine soul. Principal Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria paid his obeisance and offered rich floral tributes. Senior Academic Coordinator Jyotsana Madan, Primary In-charge Shweta Oberoi, and Pre- Primary In-charge Shalini Kaul also paid homage to the First Lady.

Students sang devotional songs that warmed the hearts of all in the audience.Mr. Sandeep Singh Kathuria spoke about Smt. Rajeshwari Paul’s life and urged everyone to emulate her great persona. As a soulful tribute, the solemn occasion concluded with a melodious ‘Ramdhun’ presented by the tiny tots of the pre-primary wing of the school.
