Release of new NCERT textbooks likely by August 2023

After nearly two decades, school students at all levels will learn from the updated textbooks to be introduced in the 2024-25 academic year, top officials in the Ministry of Education (MoE) have said. This is aligned with the National Education Policy 2020 and National Curriculum Framework (NCF) released in August 2022.
These textbooks will see additions of various texts such as on world history, Vedic math and Bhagavad Gita shlokas. Information on Greek history, religious reformation and old schools of India will also be added in higher secondary classes.
The syllabi for classes 1 and 2 are almost ready and books for these are likely to be commissioned for printing in August 2023. Further, it will be published in many regional languages apart from the main three – English, Hindi and Urdu.
