The spirit of love, protection, and togetherness filled the air at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg, as students and staff came together to celebrate the beautiful festival of Raksha Bandhan. The special assembly transformed the school auditorium into a vibrant space of emotions, traditions, and learning.
The celebration began with a warm introduction about the significance of Raksha Bandhan — a festival that goes beyond the ceremonial tying of a thread, symbolising an unbreakable bond of trust, care, and lifelong promise between siblings. Teachers highlighted how this age-old tradition continues to evolve, embracing values of mutual respect, responsibility, and unity in modern times.
The highlight of the event was a heart-touching skit performed by a talented brother-sister duo from the school. With effortless charm and emotive acting, they brought alive the story of a sibling bond, from playful fights to unwavering support, leaving the audience smiling one moment and misty-eyed the next. Their performance beautifully illustrated that the essence of rakhi lies not just in rituals but in the everyday gestures of love and protection we share with our loved ones.
Students watched with rapt attention, their faces lighting up as they related the scenes to their own lives. Many could be seen exchanging knowing glances and warm smiles, silently recalling their cherished memories with siblings. The performance was followed by an interactive talk where students shared how they celebrate Raksha Bandhan at home, adding personal touches to the tradition.
To make the celebration even more meaningful, the assembly also emphasised the broader message of harmony and inclusivity — reminding everyone that the ‘thread of protection’ can extend beyond family, binding friends, mentors, and even the community together.

The event concluded with heartfelt applause and an unspoken promise from each attendee to treasure and nurture the relationships that matter most. As students left the hall, the words from the opening line lingered in the air — “Rakhi… a string that connects the wrist to the heart” — reminding everyone that the festival is as much about feeling as it is about tradition.
It was, truly, a celebration that tied not just rakhis, but also countless invisible threads of love across every heart present.
