The Alumni Committee of Apeejay Institute of Management & Engineering Technical Campus (AIMETC),  Jalandhar successfully conducted an insightful expert talk under its Alumni Connect Series . The session was organised for students of MBA, BBA, and B.Com (H) programs, focusing on the theme “How to be Corporate Ready?”

The guest speaker for the event was Mr. Varun Jain, a distinguished alumnus from the MBA batch of 2005-2007. Currently serving as the Regional Head at HDFC Life, Mr. Jain brought with him years of valuable industry experience and practical insights, which resonated well with the aspiring professionals in attendance.

The talk aimed at equipping students with essential skills and knowledge needed to transition smoothly into corporate life. Mr. Jain emphasised, “It’s important to understand workplace expectations and the need for effective professional communication.” He elaborated on business etiquette, networking strategies, and maintaining ethical standards and integrity at the workplace.

He also stressed, “time management and productivity enhancement, the significance of adhering to dress codes, and presenting oneself in business formals could influence interview outcomes”. Furthermore, Mr. Jain inspired students to develop leadership qualities and cultivate a growth mindset — both crucial traits for long-term success in the corporate world.

In addition to the technical skills, Mr. Jain shed light on the importance of email management, continuous learning, adaptability to change, a proactive mindset, teamwork, and maintaining discipline in professional environments. He encouraged students to practice consistently, labeling it as the “key to success.”

Dr. Rajesh Bagga, Director, AIMETC, appreciated Mr. Jain for his articulate and impactful presentation. He remarked, “As students strive to excel in their careers, it becomes essential to focus on areas that significantly influence their professional journey.” He further added that growth is a continuous process and every effort taken brings one closer to their career goals.

The event was coordinated by Dr. Rajneesh Arya, Dean, School of Management; Mr. Amanpartap Singh Pall, Faculty, School of IT; and Ms. Rajinder Kaur, Faculty, School of Management.
