PM Modi urges global AI framework

During the Grand Finale of the Smart India Hackathon, Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged with participants via video conferencing on December 19, 2023. He highlighted the dynamic nature of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and India’s efforts to establish a global framework for AI. PM Modi cautioned about potential misuse of AI and stressed the need for vigilance, citing the challenges posed by deep fake videos.
Speaking on Chandrayaan-3, he credited the mission for changing India’s global perception and deemed the upcoming decade crucial for the space-tech economy. He encouraged youth to contribute to the space sector, emphasising the accomplishments demonstrated by initiatives like Chandrayaan.
PM Modi also discussed innovations in the railway sector, acknowledging the transformation of Indian Railways and the government’s substantial investment in logistics. He commended the participants for their contributions and mentioned the ‘Study in India’ programme, facilitating foreign students’ higher studies in India.
The Smart India Hackathon is a nationwide initiative fostering problem-solving and product innovation among students. It serves as a platform for addressing challenges faced by the government, industries, and organisations.
