Marketing is a vital skill for MBA students, equipping them to understand consumer behaviour, craft impactful strategies, and position brands effectively. Mastery in marketing not only enhances career prospects but also fosters critical thinking, creativity, and adaptability—qualities essential for leadership in today’s competitive business landscape.
At Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka marketing is one of the core subjects. Thus to basic know-how on the subject, the Delhi-based MBA school recently hosted an insightful guest session for PGDM first-year students.
Facilitated by Dr. Preeti Suryawanshi and Prof Anushka Goel, who teach Marketing Management at ASM, the session was delivered by Ms. Priyanka Arora, an accomplished alumna of ASM.
Ms. Arora, Founder of The Corporate Gesture, is an experienced Personality Development Consultant, Soft Skills Trainer, Motivational Speaker, and Corporate Fashion Consultant. With over a decade of professional experience spanning HR consulting, talent acquisition, corporate training, and entrepreneurship, she has worked with leading organisations such as Deutsche Bank, Almondz Global Securities, and Wilson College, Mumbai.
In this session on the Basics of Marketing, Ms. Arora blended foundational concepts with rich, practical insights. She illustrated marketing fundamentals using well-known global brands such as Nike, Apple, Airbnb, and Spotify, showing how these companies craft powerful connections with their audiences.
The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating, sharing perspectives, and posing thought-provoking questions. Ms. Arora encouraged the MBA students to think beyond definitions, urging them to link marketing theories with everyday brand experiences.
Sharing his thoughts on attending the guest lecture, Pulkit Bhatia, a student with ASM mentioned, “The guest lecture was very informative and interactive. I would love to attend more lectures like this.”
The session concluded on an inspiring note, with students leaving more curious and motivated to explore marketing strategies in depth. Another student Mohamaad Ayan said, “The guest lecture on Marketing Management was really interesting. Got to learn some fresh concepts and how big brands actually use them in real life. The speaker was super engaging and kept pushing us to think better. Honestly, it was a great session.”
