Overcoming society’s beauty standards and insecurities

Published

on

Growing up, we often hear negative things about acne or being overweight, and it can make us feel bad about ourselves. People give unsolicited advice on how to treat these issues, making us feel even worse. Society’s standards of beauty portrayed in Bollywood movies also contribute to these insecurities. We rarely see actresses with acne or overweight girls in roles where they aren’t ridiculed. This affects not just girls but also boys, women, men, and even our grandparents. Teenagers, like me, fall into this trap, always trying to change something about themselves.

But why should it matter if we are overweight or have acne? Or if we don’t fit society’s beauty standards? We are still human beings, and nobody has the right to define our beauty for us. Insecurities are created by society, and no matter how we look, there will always be people who try to put us down.

The key is to love and accept ourselves just the way we are. It’s good to improve ourselves for our own well-being, but changing for others is a mistake. Everything in this world is beautiful, whether it’s a tree, a human, or an animal. It’s a shame that some people face discrimination for loving someone of the same gender. But times are changing, and we must embrace ourselves and take charge of our lives without worrying about what others think.

No matter what others say, never blame yourself for being the way you are. You are beautiful just the way you are. It’s essential to focus on pleasing yourself rather than seeking approval from others. Love yourself and be proud of who you are.
