Over 90% of Indian businesses are considering ways to use Generative AI: Survey

According to a recent survey called the ‘AI Digital Skills Survey’ conducted by Salesforce, it has been found that a significant majority of workers in India prioritise skills over educational qualifications or career backgrounds. The survey, which included 11,035 working adults from 11 countries, reveals that only 4 out of 10 Indian employees are currently utilising AI in their respective roles, despite it being recognised as one of the most sought-after digital skills in the market. This survey sheds light on the perspective of Indian workers regarding the importance of skills in today’s digital landscape.

The report further indicates that 89% of Indian workers consider skills-based experience more important than a degree or industry-specific qualification when trying to land a job in the current market. However, there is a disconnect between the skills companies need and those currently used by the workforce. While 9 in 10 Indian workers report using digital skills in their day-to-day work, just over half (52%) report using skills beyond digital administration.
