It is a proud day for any learning institute when it is rewarded for the immense hard work, dedication and discipline put in 365/365 days. And can anything be better when the credibility of an institute is recognised by a leading magazine of the day.
Open Magazine has recently come out with its Best Colleges Issue 2023, and Apeejay Institution of Mass Communication (AIMC) has been ranked no 1 in North India among all private colleges.

Professor Prof Sajal Mukherjee, Director at AIMC, who is himself an advertisement industry doyen, says that several attributes make AIMC the ‘numero uno’ college in North India. He mentioned, “One has to firstly understand that AIMC stems from the Apeejay Education Group, a group with a heritage of over 50 years in the education sector. It operates keeping in mind the fundamental tenets of value based education and nation building through character building, as emphasised by Founder-Chairman Dr Stya Paul and Madam-President Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia. Professor Ashok Ogra, Advisor -Mass Communication has also been a true visionary in helping AIMC reach its potential. Hence at AIMC, excellence is our first pursuit. The entire curriculum is designed with the help of the industry professionals. Our faculty itself is composed of leading media industry professionals and the training programme designed by them is highly experiential. This helps make the students industry ready from day one itself.” He added, “Our campus is equipped with the latest HD studio, smart classrooms, a 24/7 library which is converted into a resource center which is also accessible online. The entire campus has wifi and we look into students requirements very seriously.”
He further added, “Our approach at AIMC has always been to make our students value-adders and not value-takers. As a result, the industry is aware of an AIMC graduate’s quality. This is why the placement is so high at our college. Because our students are recruited directly instead of going through an internship.”

AIMC alumna Anupama Mitra also gives her take on what makes her alma mater a notch higher than the rest. The alumna stated, “Looking back, I think the best part about AIMC was their openness and encouragement towards everyone at the campus. They made sure that a student was always clear about the concept, involved, participative and happy in all the tasks given. The campus was brimming with extra-curricular events and the teaching-learning environment was definitely full of knowledge.”
She continued, “I had joined AIMC as an English Honours graduate, as I had decided to pursue my passion in content writing. By the end of my education, I got placed in Communique Marketing Solutions Pvt. Ltd through the college placement cell. What was most surprising to me was that although I had joined as a copywriter executive, yet I was trained to deal with clients as well as do event management. This helped me excel at my job and all thanks to my time at AIMC.”
She further mentioned, “AIMC days and lessons push me even now to break out of my comfort zone, for I am capable of doing every task with excellence and composure. They introduced me to my strengths and instilled in me the confidence to utilise my skill set properly.”
