The National Testing Agency (NTA) has officially announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) for undergraduate medical courses will be conducted in pen-and-paper mode. According to the notification, the exam will take place on a single day and in a single shift, ensuring uniformity for all candidates.
NEET UG serves as the gateway to undergraduate medical courses across disciplines, including Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), and Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS). Additionally, the test will also determine admissions for the Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) under the National Commission for Homeopathy.
Significantly, the notification highlighted that candidates aspiring for the Military Nursing Service (MNS) and admission to the four-year BSc Nursing courses at Armed Forces Medical Service Hospitals in 2025 must also qualify for NEET UG. The scores from the exam will be utilised for shortlisting candidates for this prestigious nursing program.
In a step toward enhancing the examination process, the integration of the Automated Permanent Academic Account Registry (APAAR) ID with NEET UG 2025 was announced. Candidates are encouraged to use their APAAR ID and opt for Aadhaar-based authentication during the registration and examination process. This initiative aims to streamline verification, simplify registration, and maintain the integrity of the exam.
The NTA has urged all applicants to ensure their Aadhaar credentials are updated to facilitate a seamless registration experience. The registration process for NEET UG 2025 is expected to begin soon, and the agency has assured aspirants that further details will be released in due course.
With these updates, the NTA reaffirms its commitment to maintaining a transparent and efficient admission process for aspiring medical and healthcare professionals in India. Students are advised to keep an eye on official notifications for the latest developments.
