Read edited excerpts:
Can you tell us a bit about your professional journey and how it began?
I began my professional career in 2013–2014, and from the very start, I was drawn to the marketing and gifting industry. Over time, I realised that this was a sector where I could truly grow and make a difference.
Today, I serve as the Associate Vice President at Vouchagram India Private Limited. The journey has been filled with learning experiences, I’ve grown both personally and professionally. The challenges along the way have shaped me into a more grounded individual, and I believe that acknowledging your learnings is just as important as celebrating your achievements.
What are some key lessons your career has taught you?
The biggest lesson I’ve learned is perseverance. Every career comes with highs and lows. There are days full of opportunities and others that test your patience. It’s essential to stay consistent and not lose faith in your abilities. Your journey becomes meaningful only when you learn to overcome those difficult phases.
What advice would you give to students who are uncertain about their future career paths?
My advice is simple: never give up. There will be times when things don’t go your way, and you might feel that you’re not good enough for a particular field. But that’s never true. Keep trying, keep learning, and eventually, you’ll find yourself excelling. Success is not about avoiding struggle, it’s about embracing it and coming out stronger.

What kind of mindset do you think young professionals should bring to the workplace today?
When I interview young graduates, I look for intent and determination more than technical skills. Skills can be taught over time, but a strong will and a positive attitude are priceless. The right mindset helps individuals face challenges, adapt to change, and contribute meaningfully to their organisation.
Finally, what trends should students watch out for if they wish to enter marketing or gifting industries?
There’s a surge in B2C and D2C brands, which has opened exciting opportunities for young professionals. My suggestion is to identify what truly excites you and start exploring that field early. Once you have clarity about where you see yourself five or ten years down the line, it becomes easier to align your learning and career goals with that vision.
