The National Testing Agency (NTA) will close the registration window for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) 2026 today, March 11, giving aspirants a final opportunity to submit their applications. Candidates who have not yet completed their registrations can apply through the official website, neet.nta.nic.in, before the deadline.
Earlier, the application process was scheduled to conclude on March 8, 2026. However, the NTA extended the deadline to March 11, 2026, after receiving several requests from candidates seeking additional time to complete their applications.
According to the official notification, candidates can submit their application forms until 9 PM today. The fee payment facility, however, will remain open until 11:50 pm, allowing applicants extra time to complete the payment process after submitting the form.
NEET UG is the national-level entrance exam for admission to undergraduate medical programmes across India. The exam serves as the gateway for courses like MBBS, BDS, and other allied health science programmes offered by government and private medical institutes.
Candidates planning to appear for NEET UG 2026 must meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Applicants should have passed or be appearing in their Class 12 or equivalent exam with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology or Biotechnology as core subjects, along with English, from a recognised board.
In addition, candidates must be at least 17 years old on or before December 31, 2026, to be eligible to take the exam.
With the extended registration window closing today, candidates are advised to complete their applications well in advance of the deadline. The NTA has urged aspirants to avoid waiting until the final hours, as heavy traffic on the portal could lead to technical delays or difficulties during submission.
Students who intend to appear for the exam should ensure that all details are correctly filled out and the application fee is successfully paid before the closing time.
