Tell us about yourself.

There is not a lot interesting about me as I’m mostly studious. I’ve been focused on my studies, especially for the last two years as I prepared for my class 12 Boards and other competitive exams. However, I’m planning to balance my routine by exploring other activities as well. I enjoy watching science fiction movies, playing video games, and occasionally playing cricket.

What was your daily study routine like?

I didn’t follow a specific timetable or set fixed hours for studying. I believe that studying should be based on one’s capacity and that forcing oneself to stick to a rigid schedule isn’t effective. I tried studying for long, continuous hours in an attempt to be rigorous, but I found that this approach didn’t help me at all. Instead, I’ve learned that it’s important to listen to my own needs and study in a way that works.

Have you always wanted to appear for the NEET exam?

Yes. My parents are doctors, and they have been my inspiration. Back in class IX, I decided to pursue a career in medicine, and now, here I am, working towards that goal.

How were you able to balance your school studies along with NEET preparation?

It wasn’t too challenging because the school course subjects aligned well with the NEET exam preparation. I was able to effectively divide my time between school studies and NEET preparation. By balancing both, I could focus on school assignments while simultaneously building a strong foundation for the NEET exam. This approach allowed me to manage my workload efficiently and stay on track with my goals.

How often did you take mock tests, and how did you analyse your performance?

I didn’t take any formal mock tests, but I heavily relied on studying the previous year’s exam question papers. This approach proved to be immensely beneficial in my preparation process. By thoroughly analysing past exam papers, I gained valuable insights into the exam format, types of questions, and areas of focus. This strategy helped me build confidence and ensured that I was well-prepared for the challenges of the actual exam.

What strategies did you use to tackle difficult questions or sections?

Understanding the core concepts is crucial, particularly in subjects like Physics. While the syllabus provides a framework, delving beyond its boundaries can be enlightening. By immersing oneself in research and exploring topics comprehensively, a deeper understanding emerges, enhancing overall comprehension and application.

What are you now aiming for?

Certainly, aiming to specialise in Paediatrics.

How has the school supported you?

The guidance and support provided by dedicated educators, along with the encouragement and resources from my parents, played an invaluable role in shaping my academic journey. Their collective efforts fostered a conducive learning environment, enabling me to achieve my current position.

Any tips or advice for students preparing for NEET?

Remember to prioritise self-care and avoid overwhelming yourself to the point of burnout. Instead of comparing your progress with others, maintain confidence in your abilities and trust in your journey. By staying true to yourself and focusing on your goals, you’ll reach your destination with resilience and determination.
