NEET PG 2025 Counselling to begin in mid-October
The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to commence the NEET PG 2025 counselling process around mid-October, according to recent updates. The detailed counselling schedule will soon be released on the official website — mcc.nic.in.
The Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) shared on X (formerly Twitter) that, based on its communication with the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW), the counselling process is anticipated to begin in the middle of October. Once officially announced, candidates who qualified for NEET PG 2025 can register online and participate in the seat allotment rounds.
Allotment and Counselling Process
The MCC will release a complete schedule outlining important dates for registration, fee payment, choice filling, locking of preferences, and seat allotment results. The entire counselling process is conducted in four rounds, including a stray vacancy round to fill any remaining seats.
For Round 1, the registration window generally remains open for more than a month, giving candidates ample time to complete the process. In contrast, the registration period for subsequent rounds typically closes within a week.
After successfully registering and paying the counselling fee, candidates must fill and lock their preferred choices of medical institutes. The locking facility is usually open for one day only, after which no further changes can be made. Seat allotment results are published on the MCC website, and selected candidates must report to the allotted colleges within the stipulated time frame.
Steps to Download NEET PG 2025 Counselling Schedule
- Visit the official website: mcc.nic.in
- Click on the “PG Medical” tab on the homepage.
- Under “News and Events,” select “NEET PG 2025 Counselling Schedule.”
- The schedule will automatically download to your device.
For registration, candidates should click on “New Registration 2025” under the “Candidate Activity” section and log in using their NEET PG roll number, password, and counselling type.
Aspiring medical postgraduates are advised to regularly check the MCC website for the official notification and adhere to the deadlines once the schedule is released.
