NEET PG 2023: Counselling to begin soon

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is set to initiate the counselling process for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Post Graduate (NEET PG) 2023. Recently, the NMC announced the availability of approved/permitted seats in various specialties for the seat matrix, enabling admissions for the academic session 2023.
According to the official notice, the Post Graduate Medical Education Board (PGMEB) has received a total of 2828 applications from medical colleges/institutes for the recognition or renewal of recognition of PG Medical qualifications in 2022. As of now, the Board has made decisions on 1870 applications, while the remaining applications are still under review.
The existing recognised/ permitted PG Board Speciality seats available with medical colleges/ institutes will be considered for admission for the academic year 2023 and a seat matrix will be prepared accordingly. The number of seats may also get reduced under special circumstances.
The NEET PG 2023 was conducted on March 5 and results were declared on March 14. The cut-off for General and EWS categories was 291 out of 800, for General-PwBD it was 274 and for SC, ST and OBC it was 238. In post-graduate counselling, there are 50 per cent seats each for all India quota and states.
