Eleven cadets from the NCC unit of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar displayed exemplary discipline, determination, and skill as they actively participated in the 10-day Combined Annual Training Camp (CATC). The camp was meticulously organised by 2 Punjab Battalion NCC, Jalandhar, under the able command of Colonel Vinod Joshi.
The participating cadets including Ahana Chaudhary, Nisha, Harneet Kaur, Sneha Dubay, Samairaa Chetal, Harshita Sharma, Disha Sharma, Somia, Anushka, Nandini, and Simran experienced a rich training schedule that included parade drills, yoga sessions, battlefield simulations, weapon training, firefighting techniques, and informative lectures on defence services, health, hygiene, and combat strategies. These activities were designed to build resilience, discipline, and leadership qualities in the cadets.
Apart from rigorous physical and defence training, the cadets participated actively in various sports and cultural programmes, showcasing their multifaceted talents. Samairaa Chetal brought laurels by securing first position in extempore, while Disha Sharma demonstrated exceptional sportsmanship by achieving first position in basketball. Anushka won third position in both weapon handling and basketball, exhibiting precision and team spirit. Nisha was appreciated with a certificate for her participation in cultural activities. Ahana Chaudhary received a certificate for her involvement in volleyball, and Nandini was acknowledged with a certificate for her confident and engaging compering during the cultural events.
Expressing her pride and appreciation, Dr. Neerja Dhingra stated, “We take immense pride in our cadets for their spirited performance and discipline during the CATC camp. Their participation and victories in various spheres reflect the holistic development we strive for at Apeejay. Such platforms not only train them to serve the nation but also instill in them a deep-rooted sense of confidence, camaraderie, and leadership.”
