The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, organised Nazariya 2.0 – a Photography Exhibition to mark the World Photography Day. The event turned into a vibrant celebration of visual storytelling, drawing nearly one hundred participants from diverse departments. It brought together young visionaries and storytellers who showcased their unique perspectives on the world, turning the exhibition into a true festival of creativity and imagination.

Building on the remarkable success of its first edition, Nazariya 2.0 offered budding photographers a professional platform to experiment with ideas and showcase their innovative vision. The exhibition reflected the essence of seeing beyond the obvious, capturing not just what the world looks like but what it feels like through the eyes of aspiring artists. Themes ranged from portraits and heritage to nature, motion, and light-and-shadow compositions. Each frame revealed the extraordinary in everyday life, encouraging audiences to pause, reflect, and appreciate fleeting yet powerful moments.

The exhibition was graced by Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, who attended as the Chief Guest. In her thought-provoking address, she urged students to “look at the world with fresh eyes, capture moments with meaning, and use creativity as a tool to inspire change.” Her words filled the young photographers with motivation and set the perfect tone for the event.

The competition was judged by Mr. Rajesh Kalsi, Assistant Professor, Department of Design, who commended the participants for their innovative perspectives and their ability to freeze powerful moments through their lenses.

The results reflected the high standard of talent on display. In the Portraits category, Samita of BFA Semester 5 secured the first prize for her striking capture of human emotions. Diya of BAJMC Semester 5 and Samita again of BFA Semester 5 took second and third places respectively. In the Heritage category, Ribhav Batra of B.D. Semester 7 earned the top spot with his evocative portrayal of cultural essence.

Through Nazariya 2.0, ACFA once again highlighted its commitment to nurturing creativity, providing a platform where imagination and artistry thrive. The event not only celebrated World Photography Day but also strengthened the college’s legacy of encouraging students to see and present the world through their unique vision.
