Celebrating festivals in school is essential for nurturing a child’s cultural identity and social skills. These vibrant activities not only enrich their understanding of traditions but also encourage teamwork, creativity, and a sense of belonging. By immersing themselves in festive experiences, students learn valuable lessons about community, empathy, and the significance of their heritage.

At Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, the spirit of Navratri was alive and pulsating with joy as our little ones from the nursery donned colourful lehengas and kurtas, transforming the school into a kaleidoscope of colour. They twirled and danced to the lively beats of traditional music, embodying the festival’s essence, which symbolises the triumph of good over evil.

The air was filled with laughter as children relished an array of traditional snacks and sweets, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie. The enthusiasm radiating from the kindergarten classrooms made the celebration an unforgettable experience, instilling cultural values and a sense of teamwork in these tiny tots.

With Dussehra approaches, the creative spirit continued to flourish with a Ravan Puppet Making Activity for class I students. Guided by their teachers, the children engaged in this delightful project, crafting vibrant puppets that brought the legendary character of Ravan to life. This interactive endeavour was not merely an artistic exercise; it also enhanced their fine motor skills and storytelling abilities. By exploring Indian mythology and understanding the significance of Dussehra, students connected with their cultural roots in a meaningful way.

“Pre-primary students celebrated Dussehra and Navratri with great enthusiasm. Dressed in vibrant traditional attire, they danced to festive songs and participated in a fun, educational The Ramayan role-play. Students of class I made colourful Ravan masks fostering creativity while learning about the significance of the festivals. These festivities promote creativity, unity, and respect for diverse customs from a young age,” Ms Rachna Jain, Pre-primary coordinator, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park shared.

Together, these festivities at Apeejay School highlighted the importance of embracing traditions, fostering creativity, and building a strong sense of community among young learners.
