Ministry of Education is setting up a live dashboard to monitor the implementation of National Education Policy (NEP), 2020, an official said. The process is set to begin June 2021 onwards. The NEP 2020 last year replaced the 34-year-old National Policy on Education framed in 1986. It aims at overhauling India’s existing education regime, making it more learner-centric. According to the Ministry of Education, the new policy aims for universalization of education from pre-school to secondary level with 100% Gross Enrolment Ratio in school education by 2030 and aims to raise Gross Enrolment Ratio in higher education to 50% by 2025. NEP 2020 will bring 2 crore school children back into the mainstream through open schooling system.
