Apeejay School, Model Town, marked National Youth Day 2025 with a vibrant and meaningful programme for students of Grades VI to IX. The activities, organised during the Zero Period, were designed to honour Swami Vivekananda’s teachings while instilling essential life skills such as atmashraddha (self-belief), mutual respect, and collaborative spirit.

Reflective Writing for Self-Awareness

The celebration began with thought-provoking reflective writing tasks. Students of Grade VI penned heartfelt letters to their future selves, mapping out personal and academic goals they wished to achieve by the year’s end. This exercise encouraged them to visualise their ambitions and take ownership of their growth.

Grade VII students embraced self-appreciation by writing thank-you letters to themselves. In doing so, they acknowledged their strengths, celebrated past achievements, and cultivated self-compassion—a skill that strengthens emotional resilience and confidence.

Promoting Respect Through Creativity

For Grade VIII, the theme of “Respect” took centre stage. Students channelled their artistic abilities into designing campaign posters that conveyed why respect is a vital human value. Their work highlighted ideas such as kindness, empathy, equality, and the importance of standing against bullying. These posters served as visual reminders of the need for a respectful and inclusive school environment.

The Grade IX students worked in groups to design their own Class Constitution. On colourful chart papers, they outlined shared values, responsibilities, and rules aimed at maintaining harmony and collaboration within the classroom. This exercise encouraged dialogue, active listening, and democratic decision-making, preparing students for responsible citizenship.

While the activities were creative and engaging, their deeper purpose lay in fostering life skills. Students learned to set meaningful goals, appreciate their individuality, collaborate effectively, and uphold values that contribute to a harmonious society.

Through this celebration, Apeejay School, Model Town, not only honoured the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda but also empowered its students to lead with self-belief, respect, and compassion. The day served as a powerful reminder that education is about building character as much as it is about academic achievement.
