National Parent’s Day Special: ‘True guardians’: Poem by Srishti Vashisth, ASU

In a world of bonds, we’re born with kin,
No choice or say, they’re bound within.
Entwined by fate, forever tied,
With rights on us, and ours implied.
At times, they weigh, a burden strong,
Yet love persists, against all wrong.
An overwhelming force does swell,
In hearts we know, they’re loved so well.
Even amidst the darkest hate,
A love for parents can’t abate.
For they’re the ones who’ll always stay,
Through every storm, come what may.
In life’s vast web of fractured ties,
Families stand, they never die.
People may come, and people may go,
But families remain, and ever glow.
Some dream to flee, from their embrace,
Yet they long for that warm place.
Far away, their thoughts do roam,
But in their hearts, they yearn for home.
A purest bond, that time won’t sever,
United hearts, in love forever.
Through highs and lows, in unity,
It should always be family.
In every tale, in every endeavor,
Their love endures, lasting forever.
A poem of kinship, let it be,
Celebrating families, always and free.
