‘My visit to Padubidri Beach’: Short Note by Anahita Iyer, Apeejay School, Nerul

I visited Padubidri Beach in Karnataka with my cousins, maternal grandparents, aunt and uncle during my Christmas vacation last year. It took 45 minutes on the beautiful highway from my aunt’s home in Manipal, lined with coconut trees.

It is one of India’s cleanest beaches and has a blue flag certification by the United Nations. The beach staff followed all Covid protocols, checked our temperatures and sanitized our hands. They also did not allow plastic bags/ eatables that could contaminate the shore.

Padubidri Beach has clean white sand and crystal-clear water. We played in the water for almost 3 hours and also experienced the beautiful sunset.

We rested on the beach before eating ice creams and snacks from the stalls. My cousins and I also played on a beach swing before we started our journey back home.
