When did you first discover your interest in graphic design?

I was introduced to graphic design during my school years when we had computer studies as part of our curriculum. Learning software like Flash, Photoshop, and CorelDRAW sparked my curiosity, and I started participating in inter-house and inter-school design competitions. Winning those competitions motivated me to pursue design more seriously.

Apeejay Stya University provided me with structured learning and industry exposure. How did you secure an opportunity at Ambassadeur Francophone?

I have always been proactive in finding opportunities, and LinkedIn was instrumental in helping me connect with potential employers. I consistently applied to internships that aligned with my skills and interests. Through this process, I landed my current role at Ambassadeur Francophone, where I create visual content for their social media and branding.

What was your interview experience like?

The interview primarily focused on my past work, design approach, and how I could contribute to the organization. My portfolio played a significant role in the selection process. Before the interview, I sought guidance from my faculty, which helped me refine my responses and present my work effectively.

Can you share a memorable project from your college journey?

One of the most impactful projects I worked on was a business plan and app concept for street vendors. It was an initiative in my entrepreneurship class, where I developed a model to connect street vendors with households. Later, in my Design Thinking course, I designed the app, focusing on usability and social impact. This project reinforced my belief that design can be a powerful tool for problem-solving.

How did Apeejay Education’s faculty support your growth?

The faculty at Apeejay Education played a pivotal role in my journey. Particularly, they have always been supportive, guiding me not just in technical skills but also in conceptual thinking. The mentorship I received helped shape my creative approach and problem-solving abilities.

What is your design philosophy?

For me, design is about functionality, clarity, and storytelling. A good design should not only be visually appealing but also convey a clear message and serve a purpose. Whether it’s branding, packaging, or digital design, my focus is on creating intuitive and meaningful visuals.

What advice would you give to aspiring designers?

Make the most of your time in college. Experiment, refine your skills, and never shy away from challenges. Building a strong portfolio is crucial, as it showcases your abilities to potential employers. Also, networking is key—connect with professionals, attend workshops, and be active on platforms like LinkedIn to open doors to new opportunities.
