Fostering creative learning shall also help students develop better thinking skills.
In a candid interview, Sonal Gupta talks about how the teachers at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg are encouraging students for their future endeavours.
Excerpts from the interview:
Are your twins happy studying at Apeejay School, Mahavir Marg?
Yes. Sanath and Samarth, both are extremely happy going to school every day. The teachers are very supportive. They follow a unique and creative approach to teach kids of every standard. For a mother, nothing can be more satisfying than seeing her kids happy. When I see Sanath and Samarth happily attending school and enjoying their daily activities, my heart feels complete.
Why did you choose this school?
The primary reason for choosing this school for my kids is, that my husband also used to study in the same school, and his experience was exceptional. Also, the school is close to where we live. They not only provide good education but also helps students learn additional moral values. For the same reason, their father wanted them to have holistic development.
What is their learning curve?
Sanath and Samarth’s performance has been fine. However, they are very young to comment on how they will fare as they go into higher classes. Overall I am happy with the academic approach followed by the school.
Are PTMs held regularly?
I am very active when it comes to attending PTMs. It is a great initiative by the school as it gives you genuine feedback helping you understand how much your child has grown over the months and what is the room for improvement.
How do you balance their screen time along with their school homework?
These days, kids are always with their gadgets. But I know that it is important to manage their screen time. Kids are stubborn, especially when you have twins. I find it a little hard to keep them away from mobile phones, but still every day I am trying out new ways to distract them. But as I mentioned before, they are toddlers, and as they get older, they will be more interested in playing outside than remaining indoors.
What about their participation in extracurricular activities?
My twins have recently developed an interest in football and basketball. I am looking for classes that can be provided post-school hours. However, I also want them to learn how to manage their time first.
