From clearing the CS Foundation right after school to pursuing LLB, an online MBA, a legal internship and building a digital presence as a fashion & lifestyle content creator — Apeejay School, Faridabad alumna Samriddhi Sharma (Batch 2020) is unstoppable! Today, at just 23, she is a multi-disciplinarian who believes in collecting experiences and not regrets. In this interview, she reflects on how her school laid the foundation for her confidence, curiosity and courage to pursue varied fields.
Read edited excerpts:
What are some of your fondest memories from Apeejay School, Faridabad?
I grew up in this school — from KG to Class 12 — so memories are endless. The shift from Sector-15’s old building to the senior school was special. But the most unforgettable time was in Classes 11 and 12, especially in the Home Science lab with my best friend Jagruti. Our batch started Meraki, which is now such a popular school festival. In the first year, students made every decoration — we even hand-painted a huge hut! Be it events or competitions, the lab was our creative world. We also cooked our lunch there — Maggi on the lab stove was a ritual!
How did school shape your personality and career mindset?
My teachers believed in me even when I doubted myself. I once wanted to take Non-Medical, so my teachers boosted my confidence, telling my parents I could excel. Even though I chose Commerce later, that belief stayed with me. Apeejay was a safe, supportive space — teachers treated students like their own children.
Apart from academics, which roles or clubs excited you the most?
I served as the Home Science Prefect and participated in Gautam House activities during Sports Day and inter-house matches. Also, Wednesday PT in the basketball court — even though many fainted in the heat — is still a hilarious and cherished memory!
How did Apeejay help you prepare for college admissions?
During our time, due to COVID and internal assessments, admissions were unpredictable. But having Home Science gave me a clear advantage in DU admissions. It helped me secure a great college and the exposure I always wanted.
