As placements unfold at Apeejay School of Management (ASM), several students from the Batch of 2025 are stepping confidently into the corporate world. One such achiever is Khushi Kavra, a Finance and Business Analytics student who has secured a role as Credit Manager at Bharat Fincare. In this candid conversation, Khushi shares her placement journey, interview experience, and how ASM shaped her learning curve.

Read edited excerpts:

Khushi, what was your first reaction when you received the placement offer?

Honestly, I was extremely happy! Getting selected as a Credit Manager felt like a huge achievement, especially because I had no prior experience in this role. But the transition has been smooth. The workplace environment is very polite, supportive and my TL, manager and team members are incredibly cooperative.

You have already joined the organisation. What does your role look like on a daily basis?

As a Credit Manager, I evaluate the creditworthiness of individuals who apply for short-term loans of 30–35 days. My job includes verifying documents, checking financial stability, and scheduling home or office visits to assess whether a person is eligible for a loan. It’s a big responsibility, but I’m learning something new every day.

Can you walk us through the interview process at Bharat Fincare?

The first round was an HR round—simple and conversational. The second round was with my Team Leader and the Collections Head, where they asked basic finance questions such as “What does a Credit Manager do?” and “What is the documentation process for checking creditworthiness?”. The final round was with my manager, which focused on salary and joining details. Overall, it was a very clear and smooth process.

Which ASM subjects or concepts helped you the most during placements?

Finance classes helped me immensely. Our teacher taught us banking processes, credit evaluation, loan assessment and documentation. Whatever I learnt in those classes came directly into use during the interview and now in my job role.

Did classroom activities or real-life projects at ASM support your preparation?

Absolutely. We regularly prepared presentationsweekly reports, and finance-related projects. Today, at work, I do the same—prepare presentations and monthly reports. ASM helped me build that discipline and confidence.

What do you think were your top three strengths during placements?

My finance knowledge, my communication skills (thanks to interacting with professors and seniors), and my presentation skills—all three played a major role in my selection.
