My family’s journey through COVID-19

As you are undoubtedly aware, the COVID-19 pandemic had brought about challenging times for everyone. Many had faced job losses while others had endured the heartbreaking loss of loved ones. In my case, it’s a unique story. Both my parents are dedicated doctors who worked tirelessly in COVID facilities. This made our family exceptionally cautious about the virus.

Unfortunately, my father eventually contracted COVID-19 and had to be admitted to the hospital. Just two days later, my grandmother and I also tested positive. While my grandmother understandably felt tense, I remained optimistic and full of energy throughout the ordeal.

All three of us were admitted to a reputable hospital where we received exceptional care. The hospital staff exhibited tremendous kindness and compassion, and we were fortunate to have access to nutritious meals every day.

Eventually, my father recovered and was discharged, before my grandmother and me. His departure left my grandmother in a state of panic, as there was no longer an adult relative present. However, I remained optimistic and did my best to help her stay calm and reassured.

In due course, my grandmother and I were also discharged from the hospital and recovered well. I am immensely grateful to all the COVID warriors who risk their lives daily to save others. Their dedication and sacrifice are truly admirable. I am also incredibly proud of my parents for being among those brave individuals on the frontlines.

Finally, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to all those who were part of our journey and to the countless healthcare professionals who continue to battle different healthcare problems. Your commitment to the well-being of others is a source of inspiration for all of us.
