An ideal school according to all would be a place that brings out a feeling of attachment in its students. After all, how surprising will it be when a student doesn’t wish to miss his/her school even for a second? This feeling of fitment is what “my daughter found in this school,” opined Heena Kapoor, whose daughter Wamika Kapoor studies at Apeejay School Noida in class VIII. In a candid interview, she shares further about the unbreakable bond her daughter has formed with the school over time.
Excerpts from the interview
How did you select Apeejay as an admission choice?
When we shifted from Ahmedabad to Delhi-NCR, we started looking for an ideal school for my daughter. Since she is a single child, we wanted her to go to the best school. It was then through common friends and people around we shortlisted Apeejay. After that, there was a written test conducted as an admission process and finally, my daughter made it through. Enrolling her at this school has been one of the best decisions.
How are the teachers at the school?
They are extremely welcoming. I got my daughter admitted into class I and now she is in class VIII. So far we have not faced any major issues regarding my daughter’s conduct and care at the school. The teachers have been extremely supportive and help my child understand all the concepts well. The teachers are also available over phone calls at all times to discuss any issue I might have regarding Wamika.
What about the balance between extracurricular activities and studies?
It is extraordinary. The school focuses a lot on the holistic development of students by constant encouragement by the teachers. My daughter’s class the teacher has made it mandatory for the students to participate in all kinds of cultural activities organised by the school regularly. This way the burden of studies really minimises for the children.
How much do you agree with the adage – school is the second home for a child?
Oh you won’t believe this but my daughter’s heart beat for this school. The days my daughter has her holidays or needs to be at home, she is always bored and keeps sulking and complaining. She is more than eager to go to school as soon as possible. She just doesn’t want to miss even a minute of the time she spends at the school.
What kind of positive changes has Apeejay brought in your child?
I am really thankful to this school for bringing such a positive impact on my daughter. Earlier my child was an introvert and a total recluse with no motivation and intention to participate in anything. But over the years, she has become such a happy and enthusiastic child. She takes initiative to do so many things on her own and looks highly motivated. I owe my daughter’s recent achievement in swimming to the school only.
