For Priya Goyal, a final-year PGDM student specialising in Marketing and Finance at Apeejay School of Management, Dwarka (ASM), college has been more than just academics. It has been about transformation — from learning formal communication to building confidence and taking leadership roles across clubs. In this candid chat, Priya opens up about why she chose ASM, her faculty mentors, and the vibrant campus life that shaped her into a more assured professional.
Why did you choose Apeejay School of Management for your PGDM?
I had many options, but Apeejay School of Management stood out for three reasons — its placement record, the strong faculty, and the supportive infrastructure. I also had alumni in my family who spoke highly of their learning here, which convinced me further.
Why Marketing and Finance as your specialisations?
My background is finance-related since I come from a commerce stream, and I had already done an internship with a finance firm before joining ASM. But during my course here, I also developed an interest in marketing, especially digital marketing. That’s why I decided to pursue both.
How has the faculty groomed and guided you?
The faculty is just amazing. I’m someone who always has doubts and questions, and my professors have patiently guided me through them. My finance teacher helped me with foundational clarity, while my marketing professors encouraged me to explore digital marketing, which became my career direction.
What leadership or extracurricular roles have you taken up on campus?
I’m a member of the Student Information Care Chapter, where we help peers and new students understand the college better. I also serve as the Digital and Communication Head of the Sports Club, which aligns with my interest in digital work. Beyond this, I’ve participated in multiple clubs like Finance, HR, Marketing, Analytics, and even cultural events like Freshers.
What key life skills have you gained from ASM?
The two biggest learnings are professional communication and confidence. Earlier, I had less confidence in myself but through presentations, faculty guidance, and campus opportunities, I’ve grown significantly. I also learned the importance of formal communication, which is essential in the corporate world.
