What turns a student into a confident professional? For Anish Tiwari, it was the learning environment and support system at Apeejay School of Management (ASM), Dwarka. From practical workshops to hands-on internships and mentor-led sessions, ASM shaped his personality and career. Now a Cluster Product Manager at Wings Pharmaceuticals, Anish reflects on the friendships, faculty support, and leadership experiences that defined his MBA journey.

What was the most impactful part of your ASM journey?

The personal mentorship system was a game-changer. I was mentored by Dr. Varnika Agarwal, and we did mock jury sessions, interview training, and situational question practice. It boosted my confidence before placements and helped me grow as a communicator and decision-maker.

How did your time as Vice President of the Marketing Club shape you?

It was an amazing experience. As Vice President, I managed group activities, workshops, and marketing seminars. It pushed me to lead, coordinate teams, and stay on top of deadlines. I learned a lot about event planning and interpersonal dynamics—skills I now use in my corporate life.

How important was your internship experience?

Very. I interned with ITC Ltd. and worked on retail strategy for Bingo. I visited retailers, gathered feedback, and helped shape promotional tactics. It helped me understand how real distribution channels work and made it easier to transition into a similar role post-MBA.

Were you placed through the campus? How was the experience?

Yes, I was campus placed at Wings Pharmaceuticals itself. ASM prepared me really well with their workshops and training sessions. By the time I faced interviews, I was confident and clear about what I wanted.

What did you learn about networking during your MBA?

Networking is everything. It’s not just about knowing people—it’s about building lasting, mutually supportive relationships. I made great friends at ASM, and we still help each other professionally. That network will stay with me for life.

What inspired you to work in sales and distribution?

It wasn’t planned. I originally aimed to join the Indian Army, but life had other plans. My sister, also an ASM alumna, saw potential in me and pushed me toward an MBA. Once I got into sales and distribution, I realised I enjoyed the logic and on-ground challenges it offered.

Any advice for current ASM students?

Make the most of the platform you have. Participate in clubs, take your internship seriously, and build your confidence. ASM provides a lot—you just need to grab those opportunities. And always remember: success in the real world depends on effort and attitude.
