I recently achieved a proud milestone by winning the Third Prize in the Hindustani Classical Vocal solo performanceat the Bal Kala Utsav held in New Delhi. The event was a wonderful platform to showcase my passion for classical music and strengthened my confidence as a young performer.
How did you become interested in music?
My interest in music began when my mother introduced me to classical music at the age of three. Over time, I grew fond of its soothing and expressive nature. What started as simple listening gradually became a meaningful part of my life, bringing me relaxation, joy and a deeper connection to the art.
Who is your inspiration?
My greatest inspiration is my grandmother, who, despite her demanding career as a doctor, pursued her passion for music and sang for All India Radio. Her dedication, discipline and love for the art deeply motivate me. She showed me that one can follow both profession and passion with equal grace and commitment.

Who is your favourite singer and why?
My favourite singers are Lata Mangeshkarand Adele. I admire them for their effortless singing, emotional depth and powerful expressions. Despite belonging to different genres, both have made remarkable contributions to music. Their voices inspire me to explore versatility and connect more deeply with the art of singing.
How has music honed your personality?
Music has greatly shaped my personality by helping me stay calm and centred, even during stressful moments. Regular practice builds discipline, while performing at various platforms boosts my self-confidence and stage presence. It encourages me to express myself freely, handle challenges gracefully and grow both emotionally and creatively.
Do you see a career in music for yourself?
I haven’t finalised my career path yet, but I am open to exploring all possibilities, including music. While I deeply enjoy singing and performing, I also want to consider other fields. Music will always remain a passion, and I hope to integrate it into my life, professionally or personally.
How did Apeejay School support your musical journey?
It has played a significant role in my musical journey by providing opportunities to perform at various school functions. These experiences helped me overcome stage fright, build confidence, and improve my performance skills. The school’s encouragement and platform allowed me to grow as a young musician and express myself freely.
