A bright Sunday winter morning came alive with colour, music, and infectious enthusiasm as Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park hosted its much-awaited Grand Winter Carnival – Minerva. Wrapped in the festive charm of the holiday season, the school campus transformed into a vibrant celebration space where students, parents, and teachers gathered to welcome winter with joy, laughter, and togetherness.

The celebration commenced with the symbolic release of balloons, signifying new beginnings, aspirations, and boundless enthusiasm. As the balloons floated into the clear winter sky, they set the tone for a day filled with celebration and optimism.

The grand winter carnival was graced by the Chief Guest Mr Sumit Jha, Additional DCP, South District, Delhi. Driving the parents’ attention to two crucial topics, Mr Sumit Jhar emphasised,  “I will point out two things which are very close to my heart when it comes to children. One is addiction to drugs, and the other is cybercrimes. As parents, guardians and teachers, it is disturbing when we find that one of our kids is indulged in these things. It’s kind of a slippery slope with a ditch which has no depth. So please try and keep a watch over your wards so that they don’t fall into this trap, because it is very difficult to bring them out of this.”

Focusing on cybercrime, Mr Sumit Jha mentioned, “As parents, we try and provide a good environment to our children, we provide them with whatever gadgets they want to make them study and do things comfortably, and out of our love towards them. However, we need to be vigilant about what they are using on those gadgets and products. We should check them so that they are not misusing it. They are all sacred-hearted and have a very innocent mind.”

He further shared, “For my dear children, this is your childhood. Enjoy as much as you can and live your life to the fullest. Do indulge in extracurricular activities alongside your studies.  Wish you all a very Happy New Year.”

Welcoming the gathering, Ms Vandana Bansal, Vice Principal, Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, addressed the audience and expressed heartfelt appreciation for the chief guest’s presence. She highlighted, “Such occasions foster joy, responsibility, and inspiration among students and Minerva is a wonderful way to celebrate the achievements of the year while we are looking forward to stepping into the New Year with positivity and hope.” Emphasising the importance of holistic development, she applauded the remarkable talent showcased by the students and encouraged everyone to immerse themselves in the joyous spirit of the carnival.

Subsequently, the cultural segment unfolded with a spectacular orchestral musical performance featuring Silent NightBella Ciao, among many, by young students. This was followed by an enthusiastic Christmas carol singing that mesmerised the audience, creating an atmosphere of warmth and unity. Minerva also featured vibrant dance performances that beautifully captured the excitement and happiness associated with winter festivities. With energetic moves, colourful costumes, and expressive choreography, students conveyed the joy, hope, and celebration that define this special time of year.

Expressing his joy Tejas Vaish, a class 8C student at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park said, “I played the piano for the second time and I like this carnival a lot; playing games, having fun in the rides, food, it is very enjoyable.” .

Mother of Krishita Gupta, a student studying in 3B, Arunima, expressed, “My daughter performs every year in singing. She loves it and is always excited.”

Students of class 5 Aayushi and Harshin, who participated in the dance, shared, “We were initially nervous but when we performed we enjoyed it a lot.”

The day further featured a series of exciting competitions, including Rising Rhythm—the Solo & Duet Singing competition, Twirl & Shine—the solo dance competition, and Kaleidoscope – Talent Extravaganza, which beautifully showcased the multifaceted talents of the young participants.

A lively game of Tambola proved to be a major attraction, drawing enthusiastic participation and adding an element of fun and anticipation to the celebrations.

Students Jagrit and Tejas Kumar of class 7, who were part of the musical band and played Congo and Drums respectively, shared, “We had a lot of fun during the preparation. We were nervous but the last song Bella Ciao was our favourite. We  want to enjoy the rides and food.”

Beyond the stage, Minerva offered a lively carnival experience with a variety of attractions that kept students, parents and visitors engaged throughout the day. Stalls serving delicious food, interactive games, and fun activities created a buzzing environment where families bonded and memories were made. The festive ambience was further elevated by exhilarating rides that children enjoyed to their hearts’ content.

Laughter echoed across the campus as students and parents explored the carnival together, strengthening the sense of community that defines Apeejay Education.

Minerva emerged as a spectacular confluence of creativity, culture, cuisine, and celebration. From cheerful décor to buzzing activity zones, the carnival offered a delightful blend of fun-filled experiences that reflected the spirit of the season.  The Carnival drew to a joyful close with the announcement of raffle prizes, leaving everyone with cherished memories of a day filled with happiness, celebration and togetherness.

The Grand Winter Carnival stood as a glowing reminder of how celebration, creativity, and community come together to end the year on a high note and welcome the New Year 2026 with renewed enthusiasm and hope.
