He has already started to flaunt strong muscles in his arms, core and legs at the mere age of 12, all thanks to karate. Meet Kushal presently studying in class VIII at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park. In a candid interview, he shares how his school has bolstered his motivation throughout.

Tell us about your recent achievements in judo.
I recently secured third place in judo and second place in kurash at the zonal competitions. These achievements reflect my dedication and growth in martial arts. Competing against skilled opponents challenged my skills, and I’m inspired to refine my techniques further and strive for greater success in future events.

hare your training regime.
I train two days a week, focusing on intensive practice sessions to improve my techniques and strength. My training includes mastering key moves, enhancing agility, building endurance, ensuring steady progress and preparing for upcoming competitions.

How did Apeejay School support your journey?
It has been incredibly supportive of my journey by providing excellent facilities, expert coaching, and academic flexibility. The school ensures a balance between sports and studies, allowing me to focus on both effectively. How did judo change your life?
Judo has significantly boosted my confidence, discipline, and overall fitness. It has taught me the importance of focus and perseverance, helping me develop both mental and physical strength. Through judo, I’ve learned to overcome challenges, stay determined, and maintain a healthy lifestyle, which has positively transformed my outlook on life.

Any special diet you follow?
I drink milk and banana shakes daily as part of my diet. This combination provides essential nutrients, boosts energy, and supports muscle recovery after training sessions. It helps me stay active, maintain strength, and perform well in competitions.

Who is your inspiration?
My inspiration and guiding force is my sports teacher. Her dedication, expertise, and encouragement have motivated me to push my limits and excel in judo. She continues to inspire me to work harder and achieve my goals.
