Meisterstuck on display: This institute earned prestigious laurels at the recent Inter-university Youth Fair

Apeejay College of Fine Arts students secured first and second positions in various competitions at the fair

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar bagged glorious achievements at the recent Inter-university Youth Fair organised by the Punjab Government. The students of the college participated in several competitions and secured first and second positions in various cultural activities. The event that took place last month was an awe inspiring affair. 


Representing Guru Nanak Dev University (GND), each illustrious student created history by bringing accolades to the table. Their participation in events like rangoli making, classical instrumental, and skit was appreciated by the teachers and other contenders alike.

This high spirited event witnessed few crowning accomplishments by the Appejayites, The winners were: Vikas from BFA third semester got first position in Rangoli, Sahajdeep Singh of BFA fifth semester got first position in Classical Instrumental Non-Percussion and Nirvair Singh, Iqra, Sanyam, Ankush, Ankit Dharmani and Ramneesh Kaura got second position in the skit. The winners were honoured with certificates and mementos at the ceremony.

Vikas Kalotra, the winner of the rangoli competition, expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the college. “I am very happy that teachers selected me for the competition. It was organised by the Punjab government under the title ‘Youth Fair’ and was held at Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU), Amritsar. I was representing GNDU in this competition. Several other universities also participated in this competition,” Kalotra said.

It was Kalotra’s first experience to represent his university and was proud to have been chosen as a university representative. “It was a tough competition, but I was also confident because my teachers trained me very meticulously. I got first prize, it was a very proud moment for me and my university. Also this was really a good experience. Thank you to all my teachers”, he shared.

Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of AFCA, felicitated the students with her kind words. “I congratulate everyone at ACFA for this incredible success. Excellence is not only a matter of skill it also requires ardent hard work. Here at ACFA we keep striving relentlessly to find innovative ways to improve and excel. A dedicated team is the biggest gift a leader can ask for and I am truly blessed in this regard,” she said and added, “I appreciate all the participants and their mentors for their focus and hard work.”
