Students from Apeejay School, Noida, have performed admirably in their recent academic session, demonstrating commitment to their studies, effective strategies, and valuable guidance from teachers and family. Meet Aarav Johri, Devanshi Khanna, Mishti Agarwal, and Renayesha Kalra of Class IX-A (academic year 2024-25).
Aarav, who scored 95.2%, shared his approach to studying and said it was all about consistency. “I made sure to follow a daily routine and never left any topic for the last minute. Most of my studying was independent, but I also had fruitful discussions with my teachers and classmates whenever I encountered a tricky concept,” he said.
For Mathematics and Science, he found that using additional reference books helped deepen his understanding. “Initially, French was a challenge, but through daily revision, flashcards for vocabulary, and practising conjugations regularly, I improved significantly. My teachers played a key role; they explained topics clearly and provided extra worksheets, which helped me assess and improve my grasp of the concepts,” he stated.
Devanshi, who scored 94.2%, said that staying consistent throughout the year was the mantra. “I revised school lessons daily, especially in Science and Math, and made it a habit to complete homework on time. Clearing doubts with my teachers as soon as they arose was another key aspect,” she said and added that Math was initially difficult.
“Topics like Algebra and Geometry, especially, but I tackled them through regular practice, watching tutorial videos, and seeking extra help from my teacher. Solving previous years’ question papers also boosted my confidence. The teachers were incredibly supportive. They explained concepts with patience and encouraged us to ask questions. Whenever I struggled, they offered extra practice material and personal guidance. Their feedback helped me recognise and correct my mistakes,” she shared.
Mishti, who scored 94.2%, was thrilled with her performance. “Class IX is a stepping stone for my career, and I focused on clearing all my concepts. I also engaged in clubs like Interact and the Code Club, which helped with my overall growth. I created daily targets and stuck to them, even adjusting my schedule when I had other commitments,” she stated.
She frequently asked questions in class, and her teachers were always ready to help, especially her Math teacher, who patiently explained the same problem multiple times without hesitation. Her family was a pillar of support. “My mother guided me in Science and SST, my father helped with Math, and my sister supported me in English and AI,” she added.
Renayesha, who scored 93.4%, said that she didn’t follow a strict strategy but focused on consistently revising lessons. “I maintained a balanced life by also engaging in painting and sports. Math was my toughest subject due to frequent calculation errors, but I overcame that by practising regularly and asking for help from teachers, peers, and parents. My teachers were always approachable and supportive, guiding me patiently and encouraging me to do my best. Their clear explanations and constant motivation kept me going,” she said in conclusion.
