Nitesh Chauhan was interning at ICICI Bank, Sector 7 in Dwarka branch while we caught him for a quick interview. He is a second-year MBA student at Apeejay School of Management (ASM) and looks to build a career in finance. Let us read what the young achiever has to say about getting his first internship, busting myths about MBA – the most sought after professional course.
Read edited excerpts:
How is the internship going Nitesh?
It has been a very fruitful journey so far. I have to work for 8 hours at the bank. I handle the trade department and am liking my job. It’s helping me gain industry experience after all.
Did you get this internship through the ASM placement cell?
Yes, and I must tell you they groomed me very well. They taught me the correct techniques of resume/CV writing. I learnt the proper way of effective communication in an interview or group discussion from them. They really chiselled me to perfection!

Is this internship in sync with your career plan?
I want to go into the finance sector in the near future. The banking sector is a good start to enter that domain. I am learning crucial skills during my MBA and applying that knowledge here and profiting as well.
How is the MBA experience at ASM ?
It is a very valuable experience. I get great support from my faculty and they keep guiding me about my career prospects. I have learned many key skills needed to survive and grow in today’s job market.
One key learning from your MBA
Time management – if you are not able to organise your time, you will find it very tough to rise in life. Also, one has to keep knowledge of what is trending in the market.
A life lesson you would like to share
“Grab every opportunity while you have the time. When that particular moment in time goes away, the opportunities do not return.”
Finally, clear one myth about MBA?
You will have to upgrade your skills yourself. MBA is not a magic degree. You will have to keep working on yourself to reach a better opportunity.
