Marking the beginning of a new chapter of leadership

In an education institute, an investiture ceremony holds a great significance. It is a celebration where new student leaders are given their responsibilities and powers. The ceremony marks a new chapter in an educational institute’s history and helps build leadership.

Marking the same, the Student Welfare Association (SWA) and Youth Club of Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, recently held their grand investiture ceremony to appoint the core members and leaders for various committees for the year. SWA, known for being the largest student body of ACFA, plays a pivotal role in developing essential life skills such as leadership, teamwork, and discipline among students.

The ceremony began with a warm welcome to Principal Dr. Neerja Dhingra, who congratulated the newly appointed students. She emphasised, “It is very important to balance academics with extracurricular activities to foster a well-rounded personality.” She further highlighted the importance of leadership roles in preparing students for future success and encouraged them to fulfill their responsibilities with dedication and integrity.

The SWA consists of 13 committees, including event, discipline, placement, alumni, hospitality, canteen, women’s cell, and more. Students from various streams who had proven their abilities were selected to lead these committees. The appointment of the Head Girl Nandini Bajaj and Head Boy Shivansh Dua was among the highlights of the ceremony. Sharing her delight, Head Girl Nandini mentioned, “I feel glad to have been appointed for this role.”

Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dean of SWA and Youth Club, spoke about the club’s role in building confidence and serving as a bridge between students, teachers, and the college administration.

The event also included a formal badge ceremony, where the new leaders received their badges, followed by a solemn oath-taking ceremony where they pledged to uphold the discipline and values of the college.

The event was flawlessly organised, and appreciation was extended to Dr. Jagmohan Mago, Dr. Payal Arora, and Ms. Chetna Sharma for their efforts in ensuring the success of the event. The investiture ceremony marked the beginning of a new chapter of leadership and responsibility for the students, reinforcing the college’s commitment to holistic development through student-led initiatives.
