‘Loop’: Poem by Shritika Ugale, Apeejay School, Nerul

I’m exhausted, drained of existence
Stuck in a loop, no conclusion in sight
Every day’s literally the same, a never ending “chore”
Just going through random motions, nothing more
Mind’s become a puzzle, looks like I’m lost, so alone
Every door I opened, led me back home
To the same old thoughts, the same old fears
Trapped inside my head, all through my tears
I’ve become a robot, programmed to pretend
A fake sweet smile, a fake perfect life, until the day ends
Given up on searching for a way, to break the chains
To find my heart, to catch up with life’s train
Suffocating in silence, drowning slow
Screaming inside, don’t worry, no one will know,
Stopped wanting to reach out, ‘cause nobody’s near
Will I ever find my voice, will I ever be clear?
Will I ever be free?
Will I ever be me?
