The Pre-Nursery students of Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15, recently participated in a unique and interactive Traffic Light Hurdle Fun Activity. The event brought the concept of road safety to life, transforming simple signals into an engaging and educational journey for the little ones.
The colourful hurdles, combined with the familiar red, yellow, and green lights, created a lively environment where students learned to stop, get ready, and go while also improving essential early childhood skills.
Building Gross Motor and Observation Skills
The activity encouraged children to hop, jump, and move carefully across hurdles, strengthening their gross motor abilities, balance, and coordination. At the same time, they had to keenly observe the signals and act accordingly, sharpening their attention span and observation skills. These small yet significant steps are crucial in laying the foundation for focus and discipline.
By following the correct sequence of red, yellow, and green lights, students improved their memory, sequencing, and decision-making skills. They also learned an important real-life lesson – understanding traffic rules is not just for drivers, but for everyone’s safety. Introducing these concepts at such an early age helps children grow into responsible citizens who value order and discipline in daily life.
Learning with Joy at Apeejay
At Apeejay School, every classroom concept is extended into playful, hands-on activities. The Traffic Light Hurdle Fun Activity reflected the school’s commitment to holistic education, where children develop academically, physically, and socially through joyful experiences.
The event was more than just a game; it was a celebration of learning, filled with laughter, excitement, and discovery. Teachers guided the students patiently, ensuring that every child understood the importance of the signals while enjoying the fun challenge of the hurdles.
For the little learners, this experience left behind more than happy memories, it instilled early values of patience, discipline, and responsibility. With bright signals, playful hurdles, and joyful participation, the activity proved that education becomes most impactful when taught through experiences that touch both the heart and the mind.
