The joyous spirit of Janmashtami, celebrating the birth of Lord Krishna, came alive at Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar, in a vibrant and heart-warming event. Young students, along with their parents, grandparents, and teachers, embraced the festive occasion by donning traditional attire and participating enthusiastically in a variety of cultural activities that brought the auditorium to life.
Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor, Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education, emphasised that celebrations like Janmashtami are instrumental in fostering cultural awareness and instilling values from an early age. She highlighted that such events provide young learners a platform to embrace Indian traditions, understand their heritage, and participate actively in community life.
The venue was beautifully decorated, reflecting the playful and divine life of Lord Krishna, creating an immersive atmosphere for both children and guests. The celebration began with soulful Krishna bhajans performed by students of Apeejay School, Model Town, captivating the audience with their devotion and musical talent.

Following this, the UKG children performed a mesmerising dance to the tune of popular Krishna bhajans, showcasing their coordination, rhythm, and enthusiasm. Students from Pre-nursery to UKG also performed solo and duet presentations with their grandparents, singing bhajans and traditional songs that highlighted intergenerational participation and reinforced cultural bonding. The colourful costumes, energetic movements, and infectious joy of the young performers left the audience spellbound, making the morning both lively and memorable.
One of the most awaited highlights of the day was the breaking of the traditional dahi-handi, an event that added excitement and fun to the celebrations. The laughter and cheers of children and families filled the auditorium, symbolising the playful spirit of Lord Krishna and the communal joy associated with Janmashtami.
The event was graced by Mr Rajesh Kumar Chandel, Principal of Apeejay School Model Town; Ms Nidhi Ghai, In-charge of Apeejay Rhythms Kinderworld, Jalandhar; Ms Namrata Sharma, Headmistress of Primary Wing, Apeejay School, Model Town; and the dedicated teaching staff, whose efforts ensured a seamless and joyful celebration.
