Apeejay School, Tanda Road, Jalandhar, has always believed in nurturing young minds through experiential and joyful learning. The recent Subject Enrichment Activities conducted for the nursery exemplified this philosophy by blending education with fun in a way that resonated deeply with the little learners.

The highlight of the session was the vibrant Germbuster” activity, where our enthusiastic tiny tots transformed into health heroes. Through playful, interactive methods, they explored the essential concept of hygiene and cleanliness. Armed with pretend soaps and imaginary germs, students engaged in role-play that emphasised handwashing, covering sneezes, and keeping their surroundings clean. The activity not only instilled vital personal hygiene habits but also empowered children with the knowledge that they, too, can keep themselves and others healthy. This experience laid a strong foundation for lifelong health-conscious behaviour, most enjoyably.

Adding emotional intelligence to their learning journey, our young learners participated in an expressive “Happy Circles and Sad Triangles” activity. Using colourful shapes and creative storytelling, students explored the world of emotions. They learned to associate certain feelings with shapes—like the joyful roundness of a “Happy Circle” or the thoughtful, downward-pointing “Sad Triangle.” Teachers skilfully guided them in expressing their feelings through these visual cues, enabling children to better understand themselves and others. This unique blend of shape recognition with emotional awareness made the learning process multi-dimensional and meaningful.

Another engaging session was the “Body Parts Puzzle Game,” designed to boost cognitive development and physical awareness. The children eagerly participated in placing puzzle pieces of body parts onto matching outlines. This interactive exercise reinforced their understanding of human anatomy in a hands-on, tactile way. The puzzles were not just games; they were learning tools that encouraged observation, memory, and motor coordination. Watching the little ones confidently identify eyes, ears, hands, and feet was a testament to the power of playful learning.

These enrichment activities are part of Apeejay School’s holistic approach to early education, where students are encouraged to explore, express, and evolve. By integrating academic learning with emotional growth, practical skills, and social awareness, the school ensures that each child develops a well-rounded personality. The smiles on the faces of our nursery students said it all — learning can truly be a joyous adventure!
