Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park’s celebration of Mother Earth was not just a normal event. Led by the youngest torchbearers of change this was something special. From Nursery to class 2, students marked Earth Day with a delightful blend of creativity, emotion, and activism, proving that age is no barrier when it comes to making a difference.
The day began with Nursery students, who took part in a hands-on recycling activity. Using old newspapers, they crafted Earth cutouts, dabbing them with bright colours and learning an early lesson in the importance of reusing materials. This simple yet meaningful activity not only ignited their artistic side but also introduced them to the concept of environmental responsibility.

Meanwhile, the Kindergarten students took their commitment a step further. Participating in a mini-cleanliness drive, they picked up litter around their school spaces, understanding firsthand how small actions lead to a big impact. Their activity culminated in a creative craft—bubble-painted Earth badges adorned with the powerful message: “Earth’s beauty is our duty.” These were worn with pride, reminding everyone that even the youngest voices can speak volumes.
The spirit of celebration continued in classes 1 and 2, where the children engaged in storytelling, discussions, and nature walks that brought them closer to the natural world. Through thoughtful conversations and shared stories, they reflected on the importance of preserving the environment and penned heartfelt messages for the Earth. Their beautifully crafted artwork—featuring the planet in all its glory—was a testament to their love and growing concern for nature.

The highlight of the day was a vibrant Earth Day assembly hosted by the students of classes 2-A and 2-C. The event began on a soulful note with a melodious song celebrating the wonders of nature, followed by a poignant skit contrasting the Earth of the 1990s with the present day. With great emotion and maturity, the children portrayed the consequences of pollution, deforestation, and plastic waste, urging everyone to take immediate action.
A touching poetry recital captured the fragility and splendour of Earth, while a gripping dance performance dramatically highlighted the perils of plastic pollution. The children, through expressive choreography, underscored the urgency of reducing plastic use and protecting our environment.
The assembly concluded on a hopeful note as students and teachers together took a pledge—a solemn promise to nurture the Earth with love, respect, and responsibility.

Overall, the Earth Day celebrations at Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, were more than just a series of activities—they were a reflection of the values the school seeks to instill: empathy, awareness, and action. It was a day of learning, expression, and heartfelt commitment, leaving everyone inspired to be better stewards of our precious planet.
