Lavanya 2025: A Dazzling Celebration of Fashion, Creativity, and Legacy 

Apeejay College of Fine Arts (ACFA), Jalandhar, under the aegis of Rajeshwari Kala Sangam, hosted its grand annual fashion showcase “Lavanya: Couture Carnival”. The event was organised under the esteemed patronage of Mrs Sushma Paul Berlia, Chairman, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, Chancellor Apeejay Stya University, and Chairman, Apeejay Education. This year’s edition held special significance as it was part of the Golden Jubilee Celebrations of ACFA, commemorating the birth anniversary of late Founder Chairman, Dr. Stya Paul.

A hallmark event of the institution, Lavanya serves as a dynamic platform for budding designers to express their creativity and artistic flair. The spectacular evening transformed the campus into a vibrant runway of color, style, and imagination as models walked the ramp adorned in breathtaking ensembles designed by the college’s talented students.

The evening commenced with a warm welcome by Dr. Neerja Dhingra, Principal of ACFA, who highlighted how the college continues to thrive on the cultural and artistic foundations laid by Dr. Stya Paul. She expressed gratitude to Mrs. Sushma Paul Berlia for her constant encouragement and visionary leadership that continues to inspire such artistic excellence.

The occasion was graced by eminent guests including Mrs. Ila Gupta (Managing Director, Universal Carbons, Hoshiarpur), Mr. Gaggun Bedi (Renowned Dancer & Choreographer), and Ms. Sana Gupta as Guests of Honour, along with Mr. Nirmal Mahajan (Member, Board of Governors, Apeejay Education) and Dr. Sucharita Sharma (Director, Apeejay Education, Jalandhar). Dr. Neha Berlia, Co-Owner & Director, Family Business Board, and Lead of the Education Vertical, Apeejay Stya & Svran Group, joined virtually and congratulated the students for their creativity and innovation.

Adding to the grandeur were celebrity guests Mr. Yuvraj Hans, noted Punjabi actor-singer and proud alumnus of ACFA; Mrs. Mansi Sharma, acclaimed actor and model; and Dr. Anadi Mishra, renowned singer and alumnus. Their presence and heartfelt words of gratitude for their alma mater inspired students and filled the audience with pride.

The fashion sequences featured innovative collections such as Canvas 001, Bronze Shift, Ibtida, Bandhej Black Tie, Tahyab, Blazer Bazaar, Wabi Sabi, and Sea & She, each reflecting unique themes and creative depth.

The jury comprising Mr. Gaggun Bedi, Ms. Priyanna Thapar, and Ms. Shivani Thakur evaluated the collections for creativity and innovation. Ibtida by Anmol Sharma and Harleen Kaur won Best Design, while Bronze Shift by Kashika Anand and Mehr Dhillon emerged runner-up. Blazer Bazaar by Divanshi and Ananya received Best Innovative Design, and Canvas 001 by Harpriya, Sukhmeen, and Gunika won Best Surface Ornamentation. Simranjeet Kaur was crowned Best Female Model and Vaibhav received Best Male Model.

The event concluded with a formal Vote of Thanks by Dr. Sunit Kaur, appreciating the tireless efforts of Mr. Akshaydeep, Curator of Lavanya 2025, and the Design Department faculty led by Ms. Rajni Gupta, whose dedication made the evening a spectacular success.
