Tilly Norwood, an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-generated actress, is attracting significant attention from Hollywood executives and talent agents, with discussions underway for professional representation. Developed by AI talent studio Xicoia, Norwood represents one of the first AI-generated performers to potentially secure agency representation, a distinction historically reserved for human actors. 

The AI character made her debut in a comedy sketch titled AI Commissioner, which explores the future of television development. The project marked Norwood’s first performance, drawing interest from agencies intrigued by the novel concept of AI talent. Industry insiders indicate that the deal for her representation is nearing completion, positioning Norwood at the forefront of a growing trend of AI integration into entertainment.   

The introduction of AI performers has sparked debate within the acting community. Several established actors have voiced concerns about the ethical implications of using AI-generated characters, particularly regarding the potential impact on human actors and the creative process. Questions have also been raised about the sourcing of visual and facial elements used in the creation of AI personas, with some critics noting that real individuals’ features were composited to form Norwood’s appearance.

Xicoia emphasised that Norwood is intended as a creative experiment rather than a replacement for human actors. Industry analysts note that AI has previously been used in Hollywood for applications like de-aging actors, recreating voices, and enhancing visual effects, but Norwood represents one of the first instances where an AI character might achieve mainstream recognition as a performing artist.
