The Delhi Nursery School Admission process for the academic year 2025-26 has commenced, with the Department of Education (DoE) making registration forms available for private unaided recognised schools from November 28, 2024. This admission process covers entry-level classes, including nursery, KG, and class I. For the general category, the last date to submit registration forms is December 20, 2024. Schools must upload applicants’ details by January 3, 2025, and marks allocation will be completed by January 10.
The first list of selected students will be released on January 17, 2025 with a query resolution window open from January 18-27, 2025. If necessary, a second list will be published on February 3, 2025 with queries addressed until February 11, 2025. The admission process officially concludes on March 14, 2025.
Eligibility for admission is based on age as of March 31, 2025. For pre-school (nursery), children must be at least three years old, four for pre-primary (KG), and five for class I, with an upper age limit of less than four, five, and six years, respectively. School heads may grant a 30-day age relaxation upon request.
A 25% seat reservation is allocated for the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Disadvantaged Groups (DG), and children with disabilities. Documents like ration cards, domicile certificates, voter IDs, utility bills, or Aadhaar cards are acceptable as proof of residence.
Schools will conduct a videographed draw of lots in case of a tie. Notably, purchasing a prospectus is not mandatory, and schools may charge a registration fee of up to Rs 25 only.
This streamlined process aims to simplify admissions for parents while ensuring transparency and accessibility.
