The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the Chief Guest, Shri Himanshu Yadav, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Saraswati Vihar, along with Ms Veena Goel, Principal, Apeejay School, Pitampura. Also present were school Vice-principal Dr Renuka Kamal, Senior in-charge, Ms. Savita Panhotra, along with other teachers and students. A symbolic green welcome was extended to the Chief Guest by the Principal as a gesture of growth and prosperity. This was followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, accompanied by a soulful prayer and the welcome song BFF presented by the school choir. The ceremony was seamlessly compered by two exceptional students, Gourisha and Divisha.

Words of wisdom were shared by Shri Yadav, who thanked the entire staff of the school for inviting him. “It is important to understand that what we learn isn’t just subjects—it’s how the world, the mind, and the body truly work. Teachers carry an incredible responsibility because they shape futures. And to the students: dream big, choose any path you love, but always try to add value wherever you go. I wish you success, good health, and happiness,” he said.

Taking the centrestage, Ms Goel started off by wishing a Happy Children’s Day to all. “It is a pleasure to welcome our distinguished guests, faculty, and bright young delegates to the inaugural ceremony of Kaizen Model United Nations 2025. Kaizen (meaning continuous improvement). It reflects the spirit of MUN, where we learn to communicate respectfully and act responsibly. This year’s agendas, from AI-driven development to drug trafficking and STEM equity, mirror today’s global challenges. Remember the motto: Wear your diplomacy, voice your opinion. As ambassadors of change, remember: leadership lies in listening, questioning, and seeking shared solutions,” she stated and declared Kaizen MUN open.

The inaugural address by Secretary-General, Divit Gupta set the tone for the conference as he highlighted Kaizen’s guiding philosophy of continuous improvement and dialogue-led leadership. “Kaizen’s rich 40-year legacy comes alive in this 5th edition of Scholarly MUN, a platform that champions dialogue, diplomacy, and meaningful leadership. This conference is not merely about resolutions, but about empathy, perspective-building, and responsible action. My sincere gratitude to our school Principal, faculty, Secretary-General, and the Organising Committee, whose dedication shaped this event. As we embark on these two days of ideas and collaboration, may the spirit of Kaizen continue to inspire excellence and purpose,” she shared.
Following the ceremony, the nine dynamic committees, UNGA-DISEC, UNCSW, UNHRC, UNICEF, UNDP, UNODC, AIPPM, IPL, and the International Press, convened for their first sessions. Students were served breakfast before proceeding to intense deliberations on agendas such as AI and automation in jobs, journalism protocols in governance vacuums, and child rights protection, among others.

Delegates engaged in rigorous discussions on global security, gender equity, digital safety, sustainable development, and technological ethics. Meanwhile, the International Press captured the conference through reporting, photography, and caricatures, adding vibrancy to the day’s proceedings.
The ‘Jab We Met @ Kaizen MUN’ photobooth emerged as the star attraction, giving students a charming keepsake to remember the event.

Sharing their experience, Tvisha Garg, Director General, said, “I led planning, finalising committees, agendas, and DELT targets. With design and logistics teams, we handled social media, stationery, room setups, and last-minute delays, ensuring the conference ran smoothly and every committee functioned effectively.”
“I coordinated departments, supported the EB, solved last-minute issues, and ensured smooth committees. With more delegates than last year, the role strengthened my confidence, adaptability, and leadership,” Shreya Sethi, Head of Management, stated.
With a similar take, Amogh Garg, Head of Organising Committee and the Head Boy of the school, shared, “I started planning Kaizen MUN since June, handled agenda setbacks, coordinated a 300-delegate event, gained management experience, built connections, and embraced the responsibility of this unexpected leadership role.”

MUNs are far more than competitions, they are experiences that shape confidence, communication, and character, Saksham Tuteja, Manya Mehendiratta and Ujjwal Pandey Executive Board members said. “Across every committee, what truly matters is not winning, but learning: connecting with people, understanding global issues, and developing diplomacy, coordination, and leadership. Whether chairs guide young delegates through complex agendas or inspire them to debate real-world challenges like AI warfare or gender equity, the goal remains the same; growth through participation. Students from all age groups gain immensely, as MUNs build clarity of thought, spontaneity, teamwork and oratory skills. These conferences thrive on passion, preparation and the belief that every delegate can evolve into a changemaker,” he said.
Day 2
Kaizen Model United Nations 5.0, held on 15 November 2025, opened with delegates diving straight into the final committee sessions. The attire designated was ethnic. After the committees adjourned, the conference moved into its vibrant closing ceremony. A dynamic group performance, Melodies of Motion, set an energetic tone, followed by a power-packed act by the school’s rock band. The audience was then taken through Kaizen MUN Chronicles, a reflective documentary capturing key moments and behind-the-scenes efforts from the two-day event.
