JoSAA 2025 Round 5 seat allotment results out

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) officially released the Round 5 Seat Allotment Results via its official portal, josaa.nic.in. Candidates registered for the 2025 counselling process can access their allotment status using their JEE Main 2025 application number and password.

How to Access the Round 5 Result

  • Visit the official website josaa.nic.in and locate the link for the “Round 5 Seat Allotment Result” on the Candidate Activity Board.
  • 1. Log in with valid credentials: application number and password.
    2. Download and save the seat allotment letter as a PDF. A printed copy is even more useful for future reference.

Important Deadlines: Round 5 Online Reporting

  • 1. Online reporting window (fee payment, document upload, response to queries): July 11–14, 2025.
    2. Deadline to pay Seat Acceptance Fee (SAF): July 14, 2025.
    3. Withdrawal or exit window (IIT counselling only): July 12–14, 2025, with query resolution by July 15, 2025.

Seat Acceptance Fee Structure

  • 1. Reserved categories (SC, ST, PwD, EWS‑PwD, OBC‑NCL‑PwD): Rs 15,000
    2. All other categories: Rs 30,000 (includes Rs 5,000 JoSAA processing fee).

Options on Offer in Round 5

This is the final round and candidates may choose among: Freeze: Accept the seat and exit counselling—no further rounds. Float: Accept the seat but remain eligible for allotment in future rounds at any institute (available only in this round). Slide: Accept the seat but be open to a better-preference course within the same institute.

From Round 6 onwards, only the Freeze option remains available.

Steps After Seat Allotment

Upon allotment in Round 5, the following must be completed before July 14, 2025:

  1. 1. Select one of the options: Freeze/ Float/Slide
    2. Pay the Seat Acceptance Fee within the deadline
    3. Upload required documents (if not already submitted or if final verification pending)
    4. Respond to any portal queries – failure to do so may result in seat cancellation.

Incomplete online reporting at any stage will lead to disqualification from further rounds and cancellation of the allotted seat.

What Comes Next? Round 6 and Final Counselling

  • Round 6 is the final round of counselling for IIT admissions. Float and Slide options will no longer be available – only Freeze will be permitted.
  • For NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, withdrawal remains possible in Round 6; the exit option ends after Round 5 for IITs only.
