He tried so hard and got so far and in the end, it did make all the difference. Meet Rishit Ahuja of Class XII at Apeejay School, Faridabad, Sector 15-A who scored a 99.19 percentile in the JEE Session I. In a candid interview, he shares the magic mantra on how to crack this prestigious competitive examination.

Kindly share your preparation strategy.

I began my JEE preparation after Class X and initially felt nervous seeing others who had been studying for years. However, with the grace of God, my family’s unwavering support, and my school’s guidance, I stayed motivated. I followed a disciplined study plan, focusing on conceptual clarity and consistent practice. Regular revision and mock tests helped track my progress. Balancing studies with short breaks kept me refreshed. My family’s encouragement and my teachers’ guidance played a crucial role in keeping me focused, ensuring steady progress toward achieving my goal.

How did you balance Boards and JEE together?

For two years, I made several changes in my life to balance Board exams and JEE preparation. I avoided parties and social distractions, fully dedicating myself to study hours. I maintained a disciplined schedule, ensuring a balance between studies and play while managing time for family and friends.

I primarily referred to NCERT books for a strong foundation and supplemented my learning with reference books to understand concepts in depth. Staying organised, consistent, and focused helped me manage both academic challenges effectively, ultimately allowing me to perform well in both JEE and board exams.

Do you have plans to reappear for JEE again or content with the results?

I scored an impressive 99.19 on my first attempt and am proud of my achievement. However, I believe in constantly pushing my limits and striving for excellence. I plan to reappear for JEE Session II to further improve my score and secure admission to my dream college. My initial hard work paid off, but I am determined to refine my preparation, strengthen my concepts, and enhance my problem-solving skills.

With continued dedication, discipline, and perseverance, I aim to achieve even greater results. My passion for learning and self-improvement keeps me motivated, and I am excited to take on this challenge again.
