The National Testing Agency (NTA) announced the results of the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2025 Session I last week. According to the results, 14 candidates achieved a perfect 100 NTA score in this session. The JEE Main 2025 Session I exam was conducted on January 22, 23, 24, 28, and 29, with a total of 12,58,136 students appearing for the test. This year, the students of Apeejay School have done their respective schools proud by scoring well on the exam.

Take Singh Suryanshu Vishal from Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, who scored 97.74 percentile in the JEE Mains Session 1 2025 exam. In a candid interview, he talks about his study strategy, among other things.

Managing Board exams with JEE has been challenging but rewarding for the Class XII student who is now busy studying for the upcoming Physical Board paper. “My time management played a crucial role in balancing both. I used the same reference books for my Board exam Physics preparation and ensured that I solved previous years’ question papers (PYPs) for both JEE and Boards. Since the Board syllabus is already included in the JEE syllabus, I only had to study a few additional topics for the JEE Main Session 1 exam,” Suryanshu shared, who started preparing for JEE in Class XI.

From the beginning, he made sure to stay consistent with his studies. The school has been extremely supportive throughout his preparation journey. The school teachers provided him with the right study material and guided him on how to manage my time effectively. “Their motivation helped me stay focused and confident. Managing school, JEE, and self-study was not easy, but the support from my teachers made it more manageable,” he stated.

“Since my present score is 97.75 percentile, I have decided to appear for the JEE Main exam again in April. My preparation is going well. My strategy primarily involves solving PYQs and sample papers. I believe that understanding concepts is more important than rote learning formulas. I focus on the fundamentals and problem-solving techniques rather than just memorising equations. Practice is the key to success in this exam.

On average, he studies for about 10 hours a day. This includes preparation for both JEE and Board exams. He made sure to dedicate sufficient time to both and revise his concepts regularly. His advice to aspirants planning to take the JEE exam next year?

“Don’t panic even if you haven’t covered the entire syllabus. It is more important to revise whatever has already been studied rather than stressing over the incomplete syllabus in the last few days. Going over the concepts multiple times is the most effective strategy,” Suryanshu said.

On the day of the exam, it is crucial to stay calm and avoid unnecessary stress. “Panicking will only impact performance negatively. I believe that maintaining composure during the exam is just as important as preparation. Other than that, everything else falls into place with regular practice and confidence,” he said in conclusion.
