The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main Session 1 is one of India’s most competitive engineering entrance examinations, serving as a gateway to premier institutions across the country. This year, students showcased exceptional determination and academic excellence. Among them, the students of Apeejay School, Panchsheel Park, made remarkable strides, delivering outstanding results that reflect their perseverance, focused preparation, and the school’s strong academic guidance. Meet Aviral Shukla (99.8), Dharneet Kaur (99.65), Riti Rout (99.51), Shaurya Gautam (99.41), and Shlok Sinha (98.99).

Aviral’s result reflects his unwavering dedication and disciplined preparation. His achievement stands as a testament to consistent hard work, focused strategy, and academic excellence.

Dharneet was surprised to see such a high percentile. “My strongest subject changed over time; Math was strong in Class 11, but Chemistry became my highest-scoring subject in the final result. For Session 2, I will appear but focus mainly on JEE Advanced, prioritising Physics and Chemistry strategically. During the exam, I consistently followed the order: Chemistry, Physics, then Maths, which really helped improve my score. My key advice to JEE aspirants is to first master NCERT and strengthen basics before moving gradually to JEE Main and Advanced-level questions,” she said.

Riti hadn’t expected such a high percentile but felt completely surprised and very rewarded. “During the exam, I followed a fixed order: Chemistry first, then Physics, and finally Mathematics. I consistently practised this order in mock tests, and it definitely helped improve my score and confidence. I will be appearing for Session 2, but since I have already secured a good percentile in Session 1, my main focus will now be on JEE Advanced. I believe in smart time allocation; if three hours in Chemistry can fetch more questions than the same time in Math, I prioritise accordingly, while still giving adequate time to all subjects,” she said.

Her biggest advice to JEE aspirants is to focus on the  NCERT first. “Many students jump directly to advanced-level problems without strengthening their basics, which makes preparation difficult. I believe we should first master NCERT thoroughly and then gradually move to JEE Main and Advanced-level questions, increasing the level step by step,” added Riti.

Shaurya shared that he aims for 99.99+ for Session 2.  “My study schedule differed on school days and holidays. On school days, I returned home around 2:30 pm, rested briefly, then studied in two major slots, one in the afternoon and another from around 6 pm to 10 pm. I divided my time systematically and gave equal attention to Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. I mainly relied on reference books rather than just the NCERT,” he said.

One major challenge he faced during the exam was a technical issue related to unlocking his Aadhaar card, which caused panic and affected his performance. “Despite that, I managed a strong score, and I am now focused on doing even better in the next attempt after my board exams,” he recalled.

Shlok shared that mock tests played a very important role in his preparation. “They helped me understand how to manage time and approach the paper under real exam conditions. On average, I studied around five to six hours daily after school, though it wasn’t fixed. I relied mainly on the NCERT and coaching modules for my preparation. My school teachers were very supportive and guided me well, which helped me balance school academics and JEE preparation effectively. During the exam, I followed a fixed order, Chemistry first, then Physics, and finally Mathematics, which worked well for me,” he stated.

Other students who also achieved commendable results include Md Zaid (97.14%), Aalya Choudhary (97%), Tanmay Jain (96.36%), Harleen Kaur (96.17%), Yukta Kala (95.75%), Nandini Jha (95.06%), and Kartik Bhardwaj (94.6%), reflecting the overall strong performance of the batch.
